UMJ Signs MoU with Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute

Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ) represented by Vice Chancellor I Dr. Muhammad Hadi, M.Kep., signed an international MoU memorandum of understanding with Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute (YPI), Monday (17/04/2023). The signing was carried out at the Office of the Association of Indonesian District Governments (APKASI), Sahid Sudirman Center, Jakarta.

YPI Vice President Fu Wei appreciated UMJ for its superior competence in the technical and vocational fields. This is in line with YPI’s collaborative mission in the field of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET). Fu Wei representing YPI invited UMJ to make a return visit to Yangzhou as a famous tourist city in China.

Vice Chancellor I UMJ Dr. Muhammad Hadi, M.Kep., who was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UMJ Ir. Irfan Purnawan, ST., Chem.Eng., and Deputy Dean I Nurul Hidayati Fithriyah welcomed the collaboration. Hadi explained that specifically the UMJ Faculty of Engineering had a suitability in the Study Program field.

YPI is a vocational school in Yangzhou, China, which is one of 50 vocational schools implementing the Luban Workshop Program project. This achievement was obtained after going through a selection process from a total of 1480 vocational schools. YPI has also collaborated with Conch Cement Indonesia, 60 national and multi-national companies in the automotive, industrial automation, business, etc. So far, YPI has educated 300 students from Indonesia.

Also present were the Head of the UMJ International Affairs Office Endang Zakaria, APKASI Education Cooperation Coordinator Himmatul Hasanah. This collaboration is expected to run well and provide benefits to all parties. (DN/KSU)
